Hi,
there seems to be a door open to ICASA.
I believe that ICASA has the ability to force ISP's to make public some information a client requires to make an informed decision before signing up with an ISP.
An idea just to get the things rolling:
This is applicable to all "dial-up" types access from "normal modem" to ISDN, ADSL and MyWireless.
All ISP's must publish on their websites the worst contention ratios their services will be subjected to. Separate contention ratios must be published for local as well as International bandwidth
They also have to publish a running profile of the usage of each data pipe.
If this is enforced, it will enable clients, and potential clients, to evaluate if they are actually getting value for money.
Lets hear if there are any other suggestions.
South Africa needs World Class Broadband at World Competitive Prices.
