  2. Have your height, weight, waist circumference and blood pressure measured
  3. Donate a sample (10ml) of blood to assess your risk of heart disease and diabetes by looking at the levels of glucose and insulin.
  4. Wear a small sleep monitor on your wrist and keep a diary for seven full days to measure your sleep patterns and physical activity in your everyday routine.
Visit 2 (~45min) :
  1. Complete a simple mood state questionnaire
  2. Perform three computerized tests which measure various aspects of brain function (e.g. reaction time, alertness and vigilance; and executive function).
Are there any benefits to you for being in this study?
On completion of the study you will receive general study feedback and a personal report containing information regarding your mental performance, health and sleep patterns as measured during the study. You will also receive monetary reimbursement of R150 towards your time and travel expenses.

How do I register my interest to participate in this study?
If you meet the criteria and would like to participate, you may email KMPCHA004@myuct.ac.za and we will, after confirming your eligibility, give you an appointment date.
