Researchers discover ransomware vulnerability in DSLR cameras

Check Point Software Technologies has released a report detailing security vulnerabilities in DSLR cameras which allow attackers to infect the devices with ransomware.

According to the research, attackers can install ransomware on selected DSLR cameras via the Picture Transfer Protocol, with Wi-Fi-enabled cameras being vulnerable to remote attacks.

yeah this is why stuff shouldn't connect to the internet. everybody is gaily connecting every powered device they can think of to the net without any thought for the risks of doing so. Wait till the first car is hacked.
