I've only ever had the steaks there, I generally don't go for seafood in a place renowned for their steaks. But ja Joops steaks are top notch.

Can be done tho,that Hussar Grill up the back of Camps Bay in CT kicks some serious butt in anything they put in front of you,I'm yet to find a restaurant/grillhouse that i think beats their food,both meat & seafood.
Don't eat out that much so i'm sure there must be somewhere around over here that comes close without stepping into total larney mode.

Have you guys eaten prawns somewhere where they aren't powdery/floury texture?
That's low grade prawn & don't know whether the right stuff is just not available here or if it's the restaurateurs choice of grade to buy for profit factor.

Agreed... Their jalapeño stuffed steak is just awesome

In Westville there is a restaurant called Le Trouqet which serves classical French food and it's amazing.

I wouldn't say 'trendy' but it could be very romantic I would guess.

It's v def not trendy at all... It's stuck in the 90's... But the food is brilliant so you can forgive the decor

Bar ba coa in umhlanga also make a damn nice steak for not ridiculous money as well...
