They are rethinking it because of their huge financial loss. Has nothing to do with them agreeing with the customer. Had they not suffered financially we would have seen the securom drm continue for quite some time.

DRM is a waste and easy to get around, do away with it because sales are actually decreasing by implementing it. Sorry gary but i think pc games are cheap.

How much cheaper do you want pc games to be? Geez 300 bucks is awesome :).

actually, I agree with you. I do think PC games are cheap.... six months later. I don't buy them when they are just released (R320.00) ... I buy them after six months when they are R100 each. :D I just bought five games from Take2 yesterday for R400.00.

and in comparison to console games, PC games are very cheap!

I don't mind paying R300-R350 for a new game and R500-odd for a collector's... In relation to the former, a new hardcover book costs about the same, so I think it's fair :D

Although, obviously I wouldn't complain if they were cheaper :)

Lets wait and see if the idiots bring the prices down, as we shouldn't have to basically subsidise the DRM cost if there isn't any.

DRM is more like a symptom than the root problem, the real problem being price, causing piracy causing DRM etc...

No pc games are still cheaper overseas. In the US pc games are $10 cheaper at most retailers not sure about Europe.

Yea but if you take most new games are like 24 dolla or 20 dolla 300-350 bucks is not all that bad if you ask me with our exchange rate i want to see you bring in the game for alot cheaper.

Even most ps3 games overseas are flippin expensive like 60-70 dollars convert and again not that bad.

I don't think we get ripped off by the retailers all that much i think the rand dolla/pound nails us. You can 10% + 14% on the games as well via customs.

PC games pricing is fine but console games especially ps 3 is not. If you import the ps3 game yourself you can get it into the country for a lot less by shopping at places like shopto.net.
