I don't have an RA or Pension. I am 30 years old.

Where is the best place for me to save / investing for my "retirement", knowing the money will be safe and available

the problem you have to become comfortable with is that "safe" and "available" does not go together with "risk" and "profits"

at this stage it may come across as silly, but buy silver

That's nice. Now to get back to the question in saving for retirement besides an RA. Concentrate.

You are still living with your parents hey :)

That's a good strategy. But you have to work to build up some capital as well.

Remove the word safe, but still use brains. Send me into a direction. Where to start for offshore investing. A platform.?

Yes still living with dad. He's a bit dead due to cancer, other than that it's not too bad. Skin and bones.... Actually just bones. Give him lettuce but he doesn't want to eat.

Where to start to build some capital. Don't want to buy property.

Easy Equities?

Or must I just start pumping 10K a month into an RA? 10X?

But getting back on this - it seems like you do not have a "real" job. That would normally mean you have to join the company pension/provident fund.

So, you just gooi out there with all the brokers and such.

Don't know what it is like to work for a company or that real job thing. I'm in South Africa. Have never received an income or done work for an SA company. So I am in control of having to provide for my retirement.

Brokers such as Sygnia?

these platforms are speculative in nature, you are not investing, a typical trading platform for example if you are trading oil you dont physically take delivery of oil

if you want to preserve the purchasing power of your wealth, then within the current environment, as an ape I recommend just throwing R10 000 in silver as close to the spot price as possible - no premium coins or novelties, as close to bullion as you can get. Take delivery of it and store it somewhere safe- its not a big amount so it should be easy.

for more generic advice, I'm not really inclined to give at this stage because the current economic environment is a mess, I would wait to see what happens when interest rates eventually start rising and then evaluate to see which direction to take

I used to be big on property and still am to a certain extent, but persistently low interest rates has created a huge bubble in that area- and other markets for that matter.

You will have a hard time trying to put cash into the banking system. In fact, it may be mandatory for the admins to report you.

I'm not taking offence dearie; just taking you to task for it.

And you have had a dig at people who work. So grow up.

I used the term two years ago, and the only person who seems to remember it is you.

It clearly had an impact on you, nobody else in the two years seems to have cared.

Stop whining. As said before, you often have a dig at people who work. You haven't denied this, have you.

your claims made without evidence I don't really have to care about, others already have commented on your "fair game" strategy in the past

and others can see how you have tried really hard with your "wage slave" tactic here, I'll leave it to them to decide

What you talking about. I get money into my account every month. You do realise you get people working for themselves and have international clients?

Focus.

RA is easy. A per this thread. Lots of companies doing it. 10x as an example. But there are also concerns around it. What other options then?

Oh shoosh man. You claim not to care, but you did a big search to show you did use the term. And I'm not even going to bother searching myself.

And as, usual, you segue past the fact that I am saying you often diss people who work. Why are you ignoring that?

International clients? I take it you don't realise you should be paying tax then.
