Found this - some may find it fascinating that there are people in this internet age who owned these. I learned to program basic and a little Z80 on it... but of course anyone who had one will remember the stages we went through with Psion, Ultimate, etc. etc. Even if you didn't have one - take a peek - you can play some of the games in the browser. :D

There is lotsa other retro stuff to make you feel old (if you remember it of course)... you can look back at the no 1 hit when you were born (or 13 years old for that matter). etc!

Lotsa fun

Nice 1 - I had one until recently - I even modded a regular keyboard to work via db15 plug on it cos the membrane went for the 3rd time :D

Do you guys remember those oldschool Nintendo games? The handheld LCD ones, Donkey Kong etc; ?

I see they sell quite well on ebay if they're in mint condition.

BTW, does anyone have an Amiga / C64 / BBC / Amstrad / 129k SPectrum or original softs for these machines they want to sell? I've had no luck finding any now that I want them, I used to see them in Cash Crusaders all the time!

Unfortunately not, but it was fairly simple - the problem was that I used an old IBM "click" keyboard with no membrane - I then totally ripped the circut apart and isolated all the keys, then soldered wires to each to match the ZX spectrum membrane... you can't unfortuntely do that with a modern keyboard...

You can get them on Ebay AFAIK. You can also get the game and watch combos:
http://search.ebay.com/search/searc...&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fsop=1&fsoo=1&fgtp=

But I prefer to load the emulator on my PC:
http://www.worldofspectrum.org/emulators.html
You'll even find an emulator for some phones on that site...
then search for the .tzx files (tape files) to play in the emulator... fun...

Thanks! I had the same idea, found out the hard way that on modern 'non clickety' keyboards it was impractical...going to see if anyone has those old XT keyboards lying about...managed to fins a replacement membrane in the mean time - http://www.rwapsoftware.co.uk/. A bit expensive, but at least I can resurerct my 'speccy :)

Thanks again - they are fairly common on ebay, but shipping to SA costs a fortune! I'll keep looking around, there must be a few locally ;)
