Once upon a time, there was a smartwatch named Huawei Watch GT 4. It was a very beautiful and powerful watch, with a shiny metal case and bezel, a colourful AMOLED display, and a long-lasting battery. It could do many things, such as telling the time, showing notifications, playing music, and measuring your health and fitness.

Huawei Watch GT 4 was very proud of its features, especially its HarmonyOS operating system. It was a unique and innovative system that Huawei had developed by itself, without relying on anyone else. Huawei Watch GT 4 thought that HarmonyOS was the best system in the world, and that it could do anything that other systems could not.

One day, Huawei Watch GT 4 met another smartwatch named Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. It was also a very beautiful and powerful watch, with a rotating bezel, a super AMOLED display, and a wireless charging battery. It could do many things, such as telling the time, showing notifications, playing music, and measuring your health and fitness.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 was very proud of its features, especially its Wear OS operating system. It was a popular and versatile system that Samsung had collaborated with Google to create, using the best of both worlds. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 thought that Wear OS was the best system in the world, and that it could do anything that other systems could not.

The two smartwatches started to talk to each other, and soon they realized that they had many things in common. They both had large and vibrant displays, with smooth refresh rates and bright colours. They both had good battery life, with up to 14 days of use for Huawei Watch GT 4 and up to 7 days of use for Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. They both had a range of fitness and health features, such as heart rate monitoring, GPS tracking, sleep tracking, stress tracking, SpO2 measurement, body temperature measurement, and more than 100 workout modes.

However, they also had many differences. Huawei Watch GT 4 had a sleek and attractive design, with seven different colourways and designs to choose from . Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 had a rotating bezel that made it easy to navigate the interface . Huawei Watch GT 4 used Huawei’s TruSeen 5.5+ algorithm for improved heart rate accuracy and reliability . Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 used Google Fit for comprehensive health tracking and insights . Huawei Watch GT 4 relied on the Huawei Health app and the Huawei AppGallery store, which were limited in functionality and compatibility compared to other platforms . Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 supported third-party apps and services, such as Google Pay, Spotify, or Strava .

The two smartwatches started to argue about which one was better. Huawei Watch GT 4 said that HarmonyOS was more advanced and secure than Wear OS. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 said that Wear OS was more flexible and user-friendly than HarmonyOS. Huawei Watch GT 4 said that its battery life was longer than Samsung Galaxy Watch 4’s. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 said that its wireless charging was more convenient than Huawei Watch GT 4’s. Huawei Watch GT 4 said that its fitness and health features were more accurate and reliable than Samsung Galaxy Watch 4’s. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 said that its fitness and health features were more comprehensive and insightful than Huawei Watch GT 4’s.

The two smartwatches kept on bickering until they realized that it was getting late. They decided to stop arguing and go to sleep. They realized that they had wasted their time fighting over trivial matters. They realized that they were both great smartwatches in their own ways, and that they had their own strengths and weaknesses. They realized that they could learn from each other and improve themselves.

They apologized to each other and wished each other good night. They agreed to be friends and respect each other’s differences. They agreed to work together to make the world a better place for everyone.

The end.

That's an impressive battery - 336hrs!

Check this rival watch ... just over 5% :/

I have to say, the battery is incredible. I charged mine last sunday (15 October) and I have heartrate, SpO2, stress, TruSleep and alles turned on, and today, 10 days later, I am sitting pretty at 29%.

That/'s' unreal !

@backstreetboy what are you sitting at after 10 days ?
I guess you've charged 7 or 8 times in that period?
Only 5 times and I streamed music offline, paid for my groceries at Checkers and used my xtra savings number for discounts.

Had the Huawei Watch GT2e. After less than 2 years the watch lost 3 days of battery life which translated to about a weekly charge. To transfer music to it you need to download mp3 files and transfer them across painfully slow bluetooth using the health app and not a proper music app. Only had a few watchfaces and the third party ones were either featuring misaligned complications or they were just flat out missing. Third party app support was China only and it'll probably be the case here as well. Had petal maps that no one uses and needed to be kept paired with the phone. Firmware updates also became nonexistant and China only.

The watch was also round, thick bezels and bulky. To change watchbands was also a PITA needing to align the pin with the hole and a spring meganism. Charging was done with pogo pins instead of being just wireless.

Also the Huawei Health app is a bloated mess. It's not available on the Play store anymore so you need to sideload it and you get Chinese inbeweteen. The iOS version is not much better.

Maybe your particlar model ?

I had a Huawei GT with no issue with battery

Never used music .

I think you need to build your use case around what a product offers, rather than the tradional way? I know an expert that you can chat to if you need?

I had plenty that were downloaded from the app ... never had an issue?

Never had an issue with FW updates arriving ?

Much prefer a round watch to be honest - and also prefer chunky . I had the Classic and it just looked much better than most smart watches IMO - even my current Garmin

How many times did you do this?

That must have been slow?a Apple wireless charging isn't known for speed .

Is it 18hrs on your wrist and then 2hrs charging?

The iOS version is not much better.

iOS version on most apps is pretty much behind :(

Childcloud, Private Property, Snapseed are really crappy on iOS and it's something you need to understand

Just cheaper internals. A cheap battery that degrades quicker.

A smartwatch in 2023 without streaming music is not a smartwatch.

You probably paid for them. The free ones were terrible.
How many times did you do this?
Never. Even though I had 3 extra watch bands.

36h on the wrist.

Don't use any of those so wouldn't know.

I still have and use mine. It's around 3 years old now and yes, the battery doesn't last the full 14 days it used to, but at 11 days at the moment, I can't complain. It's still better than the best Samsung can come up with.

I don't use mine for music at all, so it's not something that bothers me. The watch has hundreds of watchfaces and has for quite some time. The Huawei Health app is unfortunately not available on the Play store, but side loading it isn't really complicated. I also don't have any issues with firmware, as mine updated two or three months ago.

Not having wireless charging does suck, but until I can get a smart watch that does the same and has similar battery life, I'm happy with the GT2e

That's good to know. Probably the Christmas update last year that they only pushed live months later.

Yea - I don't use music either.

It seems strange to me that someone would priorise music over a battery on a smart watch.

I guess he actually building his use case around the product rather than the other way around ... a step in right direction @backstreetboy ! :)

I have a Huawei GT Runner, and love it. My son still uses my old GT2e. Very few issues. I stream music from my phone to my earphones, not sure why I'd be desperate to stream from my watch. Battery life is just amazing.

I don't have time for this.

Literally, I don't wear a watch. One day might consider a smart watch.

Lol just a bunch of manufactured shots because the "smart" watch can't do much.
Like I’ve told you, most people have a use case and buy the product that best fulfils that . It’s only the Apple user where this is different .

Most people DO - in fact - value a battery. I’d slit my wrists if I had a battery like yours, as much as you justify it. And most people DO not care that much about music. I actually didn’t even know my smart phone did music until I looked

But different is not wrong? I don’t think anyone has a real issue with you valuing & dismissing what you’re told.
