Huge improvement however still to bloody expensive 10G still costs you your kidney right arm left leg etc etc - R 3100.00 eish

Don't confuse yourself. For high data volumes I use Adsl. CellC rocks for now. And I can phone my family in Europe for 1Rand a minute! WTF And when no coverage it defaults to Vodacom.

8Ta is not for real

8cTa maybe cheaper, but then they are only accessible ny the few that happen to be in the main metropolitan areas

HI

0,15c per MB OOB and 99c call rate for 50 countries as well as 99c per min , per second billing.
I think we are shacking the market , i do know they are working on bigger cost effective Data packages.
For those high data users.

Currently Vodacom and it's 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE) only.

thats fine , its for my cell and I only have vodacom EDGe in my house, I also want to port my number . do I just buy a prepaid sim and give them a call?(on prepaid vodacom ATM)

Buy a 99c for Real starter pack, RICA the sim card, follow the instructions on the pack on how to port.
Wait for your Vodacom signal to die and then put your Cell C sim card in your phone.
Should take 6 to 24 hours to port. Remember to finish your airtime on Vodacom, you can't migrate your airtime.
Also backup your contacts to your phone memory and not your sim card.

Huh, what? Larger data packages?
I'm waiting... Makes me think back to when I got my 3GB packages when it launched.
Come on CellC, I need a 50-100GB/month data bundle!
Screw adsl!

Or even better an uncapped package you can take on your new monthly packages with a guaranteed 512kbps speed after being throttled.

I use +- 8GIG a month currently, my black dongle(5GIG/month for 12 months, R2999.00 once off) has expired, I do not want to enter a contract so I purchase bandwidth as I need, however it is still very expensive I appreciate that Cell C are making an effort but still they are off the mark.

Expired Package Rate - 0.049c/MB 8000MB*0.049c = R 392.00
Current Rate -0.15c/MB 8000MB*0.15c = R 1200.00

Now here is the thing where i am the Cell C network service has improved by leaps and bounds over the last year Voda, MTN and 8Ta network are either very poor or just don't exist, it even makes ADSL redundant the highest line speed I would have access to would be 1MB/s due to location and currently my speeds that im getting from Cell C are brilliant.

http://speedtest.net/result/2105848669.png

As a Cell C customer this is what I would like to see

12MB = R1.50
30MB = R4.50
50MB = R7.50
100MB = R10.00
300MB = R30.00
500MB = R50.00
1GB = R 75.00
2GB = R150.00
3GB = R 165.00
Anything above 3GIG will be charged at 0.049c per MB subject to a double(compulsory) purchase of Bandwidth for example:-

5GIG x 2 = 10GIG at 0.049c = R490.00

The math might not be exact however im sure you get my train of thought naturally all the above will be based on a 30 day usage policy.

hope all this makes sense

As much as I'd love this, I don't think we'd be getting it any time soon.

Sooner rather than later, I hope it is not going to be held back as a strategic measure for the current price war that is going on.
Thanks for the heads up

so how does this out of bundle thing work. Say i hav R100.00 airtime and buy the cheapest bundle which gives me a R0.15 per megabyte and out of bundle the same, does it mean I can surf the net with the rest of my airtime at almost the same price as with bundle? (forgetting the smart shopper thing for a moment)

In a word: Yes, for the next 30 days.

So Im one of those lazy guess who wont want to go through the trouble of buying multiple small bundles. To much effort. And i think cell c knows people like me are in the majority. So one benefit of cell c's new pricing is almost total control over my airtime. I can buy a small bundle and have enough airtime left to call and i dont hav to worry about being over charged out of bundle. Gr8 cell c
