Can only imagine that it's a tough job.
I'm sure it is, but someone at that level leaving with 2 weeks notice is suspicious. But then it is also odd to stick around for 2 weeks - unless he has outstanding leave that he will take for those 2 weeks.

My guess is he is being asked to leave because of Eskoms poor generation capacity and it was either leave or be fired.

Incoming temporary guy looks like he has in idea on what he is doing. Graph below shows the plant he currently works at in green, and previous plants in red.

cue the EFF about another whitey taking a job.

Regardless, hopefully he can do something there, seems to have a decent track record and qualifications, old Eskom hand.

I wonder how many head of generation are going to have to go before attention shifts somewhere. Between 2019 and now, Bheki Nxumalo, Rhulani Mathebula(1st try), Philip Dukashe, Rhulani Mathebula(2nd try) and now Thomas Conradie. And what happens 6 months from now if things haven't changed, Conradie goes?

It's starting to look odd.

Mr. Conradie is a whitey. Clearly this is a racist appointment.
EFF to march and loot some coal on the weekend.

Most definitely. Especially when the ANC is not allowing you to do your job properly
This would be where I put my money. 8 months and leaving without a scandal around fraud/embezzlement points to external factors I think.

"pending the relevant procurement processes" - so now Eskom procures managers instead of recruiting them ;-)

So he found it was getting hot in the kitchen.

The short answer is that Eskom cannot be saved. The utility already collapsed and is providing the maximum electricity it currently can. As time goes by, they will be providing less and less. That is the reality for South Africa, unfortunately.
