It looks like we are going to see a lot of tax increases. I work bloody hard for my money and I worked hard to get where I am now. Keep having to pay more taxes just to see the taxes being wasted.
If I could I would have left too.
We left some time ago to Australia and have no regrets.

What Visa did you get /use?Moved to Malta with the wife and kids in March 2019 with around R175000 (after plane tickets and shipping of our things). So far it has been the best decision I have ever made. Climate is very similar to South Africa, taxes we pay go into free schooling and medical, and English is spoken by almost everybody. Even though it's a small island, you can use the Residence card to travel throughout the EU countries. I would recommend it for anyone who can do it. Just the peace of mind alone is worth it.
My money is overseas already, out of the grubby clutches of the ANC. We are off next year. And I'm not anywhere close to being rich.

And what does it take to move?
This is one significant factor when dealing with staying.
What are the rules on having two places... e.g. I live and work abroad and come to SA for 3 months of the year (for example)?
Unless you financially emigrate, SARS wants to tax you on foreign earnings.
