Quick question, is there fiber or decent internet, and is there something like free standing properties ( you know a house with a yard like we are used to as Zaffies, I'm a country boy so lego block stacking houses doesn't seem appealing )
Free standing properties are difficult to find, and the ones you find are super expensive. As the island is so small, all the apartments look very much stacked together, however from my experience, that can be deceiving. The apartment I stay in and the the apartments of other people I know are very spacious. Once you're inside, you don't feel cramped at all.
As for the internet, Malta's infrastructure is really good. The have a combination of ADSL, Cable and Fibre. I went for the cable option, and for €33 a month, I get 250 Mbps and uncapped. You can get smaller packages, but I think the lowest my provider offers is 30 Mbps at €20. Been here almost two years and my connection has never failed and I always get full speeds.
