The visual art is pretty good but the best art this kid made is the reaction. XD
mellowed, hahahaha come onIs insulting Muhammed still a thing.
Muslims seemed to have mellowed out a bit.
At least four people were killed and up to 50 injured today when police opened fire on 20,000 protesting against Facebook messages they claim defame the Prophet Mohammad.
They demonstrated at a prayer ground in Borhanuddin on Bhola island to demand the execution of a young Hindu man charged with inciting religious tension through online messages.
Agreed, some of the work is really good and I personally would not mind having some of this work hanging on my walls, the kid has expressed himself and should not be punished for that, he is talented and should not have that taken awayThe visual art is pretty good but the best art this kid made is the reaction. XD
Art teachers normally hamper the creativity of art students and try to get them to do works in their style.I'd be far more concerned about what is going in the student's lives that they are painting such stuff, than the art itself. Lets TRY to focus on what is important! And hard questions need to be asked about what exactly that art teacher has been doing in the art classes. There is a consistency in those works that suggest the teacher was guiding the art in a particular direction.
I wouldn't be surprised if he has been listening to heavy metal and reading the kinds of books that detail these grim features - like that old, thick one.
Its in there along with the belief that they have to defend their deities from artistic expressions like these... Kind of like their god telling them to "please save me from yourselves"Fascinating how religious folk believe that they have a mandate to be offended on behalf of their almighty deities.
R5000 for all the pieces.what would be a fair offer for that last supper picture.....R5000?

I don't know, let's paint some nice pictures and find outIs insulting Muhammed still a thing.

20 years ago when I was in school this wouldn't fly. The kid would've been expelled (shortly after being visited by the SAP Occult Unit - remember them?), never mind the artwork actually being displayed. I speak from personal experience.
Let's be honest: the only motive here was to be as offensive as possible. The only difference between now and back then is that today it's allowed, and often encouraged. And of course, we have social media now, and everyone has a voice.
I'm sure **** like this happened every now then, but it was just swept under the rug to save face, because we never heard of it. Of course, everything gets out in 2019, and again because of social media, it's suddenly everyone else's business, too.
I have to give the guy in the video kudos tbh. He's not anonymously posting on some forum somewhere trying to be a keyboard warrior - he's actually showing face, and standing up for what he believes in - whether we believe it, too, or think it's a load of hogshit, it's having a far more powerful impact than anything we're doing here.
Is what the kid did wrong? Absolutely not. It appears to be some sort of cry for help, and the school should do the right thing.
I thought you were joking about the SAP occult unit, I had no idea this was a thing back in the day.
Jip. It is definitely problematic. I don't know were they get that idea from.Fascinating how religious folk believe that they have a mandate to be offended on behalf of their almighty deities.
Deus Vult!

Making international news, you'll have to add a few 0's on there nowwhat would be a fair offer for that last supper picture.....R5000?
As a Christian (albeit a bit more open-minded/liberal/etc) it's ridiculous when I see how low other Christian's tolerances are for other people's beliefs or non-beliefs. Seriously, complaining about one of the greatest songs ever written **facepalm**. Faith is a personal thing so: 1) Don't let other people's statements bother you so damn much, 2) Don't shove it down the throats of those who don't care for it.Google Ronald McDonald Last supper. There's so many versions its not even original. Its cliche.
And our snowflake parents will trigger to anything that even mentions the devil. Heck - my kid's school choir had to shelve doing Bohemian Rhapsody after one parent complained.
