It may no be the kind of art that you like or are used to but it's still art. Look at the deeper message that the artist is trying to send.
You don't have to view the artwork if you don't want to. You're only offended because someone else informed you of it's existance.

What does Islam have to do with this thread? Christianity is not Islam. Do you wish for christians to use violence to protect their god because their feelings got hurt?
Think he's referring to the reaction of people in this thread just because Christianity is involved - they're all coming out of the woodwork and having a field day. Which is unlikely to happen if this thread was about Islam. I'm also curious why there's usually a change of heart when Mohammed is involved. Then it appears to be all about respecting other religions, and tolerance.

The NG Kerk must've REALLY ****ed you lot up.

My response is fsck all these neanderthal cnuts! I don't give an fsck what your religion is, IT DESERVES ZERO RECOGNITION OR PRIVILEGE!

Why is it that the religious are the dumbest mofos, the concept of liberty & free speech are lost on them. They're so stupid they'll incriminate themselves.

All these free speech advocates , i wonder was the same song sung when the Danes were being terrorised for drawings , what about that news outlet which got shot up ? Still all advocated for free speech or is it just easy to point at Christians.

Jesus fscking christ on a stick, you're a dumb cnut. I abhor your type as you're a pox on civilization

It really boggles my mind how people can be so monumentally fscking stupid The world will be a better place without you in it..

Depicting Jesus in such ways and calling it art is a cop-out.

I dare these people to do the same with the Muslim faith. They won't, due to fear.

Jesus will judge. The unpardonable sin is there for times like these. Jesus knew what the world would diverge to. Making your choice is yours. I'd rather enjoy eternity with God. You can't choose both sides. You either follow God or you don't.

People need to stop their lies and contempt towards everything they disapprove or disagree with. Whatever someone believes belongs to that person, not to others. If you don't believe, it was your choice. At the end everyone needs to take responsibility for what they've done.

Tolerance, lots of patience and an unlimited supply of love will get you further in life than fighting against someone elses beliefs or lives.

We are not viruses. We create with what we have at our disposal and always progress to new beginnings.
People are trying and willing to change for the good of the whole world. Isn't that a massive act of love? I believe so.
The worlds history is one of the most beautiful stories ever told. Let's make the future better.

What are you going on about?

The world's history is 99% cruelty, misery and poverty. Fictional people can't judge anyone. Humankind is exactly like a virus - we propagate to the point where we destroy our 'host', the environment.

Fast-food religion is an ingenious topic for an exhibition. Seems you might be offended because you're still so hooked on what Ronald McDonald is cooking in the kitchen?

If you a certain in your belief what could anyone say to affect them? If not, perhaps a bit of reflection would be good for you? Beliefs that cant stand up to scrutiny aren't worth anything....
Im just saying I aint getting shot at...

That's a lie. When muslim do stupid things in the name of Islam they get the same reaction on this forum. The NG Kerk must be clouding your mind.

You're hilarious. That's hilarious.
Even more hilarious... secular humanists have pretty much enshrined tolerance as a virtue into their Bibles/constitutions. That is, they tolerate you if you are a fellow virtue signalling secular humanist. They tend to go all sanctimonious and off the rails to the rest. Good thing for secular humanists is that they are immune to charges of hypocrisy, I guess that is the nice thing if you make up your relative morals as you go along. Comedy gold.

It sure is. But then thinking is not for everyone. Best you stick to your book and ignore the nasty bits on slavery etc.

Not to mention that people were actively being as "blasphemous" as possible and going out of their way to list non-halaal restaurants/takeways, boycotting products, saying the process supports terrorists.

A painting is mild in comparison. People are butt hurt that they can't wave an ugly flag in public but then condemn a child and school for art that happens behind closed doors

Tolerance is not a Christian virtue. Love and wisdom are. Tolerating evil and stupidity of other people shows you don't care and borders on hatred. But these poor sods think it is good that people tolerate their stupidity. So... let them swim in their own filth, they seem to like it and hey, it is fun to watch
Uhm, that depends on your definition of tolerance I guess. But Christians aren't required to convert people by force so in a mixed society you should definitely be tolerant to others in a live and let live kind of way. You don't have to entertain stupid though.

This thread is hectic, on one extreme are people who hate religion and everything it stands for - happy to insult those who are religious. On the 9ther extreme are overly religious people who are just embarassing with their 1900's Christianity mentality... and then there's those in the middle: a mix of more modern thinking chilled chiristians and chilled atheists.

Quite right - such a great union of people. Isn't it beautiful how this young man has brought us all together and united us in this sacred thread.

I must say, I love the approach of some of the zealots that I have now seen appear since yesterday: Instead of repeating the Christian mantra of What Would Jesus Do they'd rather ask why not do the same for Islam so we can see what jihad would do. Do they not get that at no point was this an attack on their faith but rather a commentary on the state of it?

You know who else made such bold commentaries? Jesus!

With the same level of vitriol as this or any other Christian thread? I very much doubt it.

Point is that some people need to admit that their issue is specifically with Christianity, instead of saying it's with religion. It seems to trigger them more for some reason, which makes little sense if all religions are meant to be equally **** - it should have the same effect, regardless.

Hence my comment re: the NG Kerk. Is it rooted in some unpleasant sunday school experience in the past or something?

Don't flatter yourself. I, and I assume most atheists around these parts grew up in a Christian environment and it's the religion that dominates in our towns and cities. The country is flooded with these "we need to put prayer back in school" people in the video and they've shoved it down our throats for years.

Go and look at the #Imstaying thing on Facebook. Every single post is hundreds of people thanking God and Jesus. Assuming the nice guy who stopped to change a tyre was a Christian and sent by angels and that everyone else is too.

Get out of my face and I'll happily get out of yours.

I always wonder you know, can anyone say with 100% certainty what Jesus or God looks like? Almost in the same way we can say Mandela or the Pope looks like this...
