That just comes across as terribly arrogant and condescending. As if the other person is a fool and you are not and you feel sorry for him...
Read that line again...
Strive to be like Christ, yes, but the damage has already been done and my sinful nature will continue to drag me down no matter how hard I fight it.
Sorry, maybe it's just me and I'm really not trying to be rude, but does that not just break your heart that an adult (presumably) actually still falls for this nonsense? I mean, original sin is like an elf reporting back to Santa if you've been a good boy but instead of presents, they are messing with your afterlife. Which might be understandable if you're a kid or a peasant living in the dark ages, but it's 2012 for goodness sake.
How can people be so scared into believing such obvious bs? Well we know of course, go straight to hell, do not pass go, do not collect 200 bucks. But it doesn't make it any less sad to me that people still fall for it. Often through no fault of their own.
Why do you feel for me ?
Do you think I'm punishing myself or something ? Or that I am missing out ? If so on what ? Or that I can't be happy ? Do you think I cannot or will not experience what you do ?
Why, please do tell ?
I feel sorry for anyone who has a religion. Call it arrogance or whatever you like, and if you were brainwashed than I realise it's not your fault and it must be difficult to escape centuries of lies and subversion. But on the flip side, anyone choosing this who wasn't abused into it as a child deserves pity as there is obviously something missing in their life.
Either way, I feel sorry for you.
