I'm downloading quite a big e-mail. About 2 mb (hey thats big for e-mail :) ).
The max speed to the mail server is about 8 Kbytes / sec. Averages about 5 K a second. I'm using DUMeter to monitor it.

Web goes much faster. So it's not the fact the connection is slow.
Telkom test shows

"Your line speed is approximately 184.5 Kbps or 22.6 kBytes/sec
( Where kb = kilobits and kB = kiloBytes )" .
It Peaked at about 108 kbytes / sec.

Here's my question. If SMTP is not shaped, why am I getting 8 kbytes / sec to mail server? Anyone else had this, noticed this?
Is this another "Stopping the spam".

It looks like they are throttling on the Server. Not really any point getting annoyed about it. It's not gonna change anything. But damn it's freeking annoying.

i've had this problem for 3 days

I'm getting mail in faster than i can download it, browsing is fine, not great download speeds but still faster than the massive 2kB/s average i'm getting on my mail download. I use DU meter aswell.

I'm downloading off the WBS mail server. I've still got 2.86 Gb left on cap.
I could download my e-mail faster on a dialup account.
Took 30 mins to get a 2mb email. Thats pathetic.

pop3 outside the iBurst network has been iffy for weeks... WBS knows about it ... but I'd recommend people still try reporting it again ...
