Koeberg nuclear power station life extension poses serious risks

Preparations are underway for the replacement of the six steam generators at Eskom’s 1840 MW Koeberg nuclear power station, in what South Africa’s national electricity utility says is the most complex project ever undertaken at the nuclear facility since it was commissioned some 36 years ago in 1985.

From the article:
The replacement of three of the steam generators on the 920 MW nuclear reactor unit 2 is set to start in January 2022 in an outage planned to last 155 days. Thereafter, if all goes well, Eskom will commence replacement of a second set of three steam generators on the 920 MW reactor unit 1 in October 2022, in a similar 155-day planned outage.

In total, therefore, Eskom will be without at least 920 MW of base supply from the nuclear power plant for some ten months between January 2022 and February 2023.
So for 13 months we run on a shortfall... so what does this mean... 13 months of permanent Stage 2 or what?

The 3-year delay resulted from the scrapping of the initial steam generator forgings made in France and the re-manufacture of the steam generators in China
Oh dear, so now we can expect them to break at any time... so more risk is now present... Xi Jinping must be smiling from ear to ear

Add 5yrs ontop of whatever they said
I didn't even get around to mentioning that.
They will start with one, fsck it up like they always do, blame state capture and the white people and apartheid... then investigate for 18 months, and then proceed with the next one, blow it up due to lack of skills as that cnut Oberholzer said...
Maybe by 2030 the task will be complete... with two units never to work again

That's why I asked, I need to know so I can prepare, and get the right tools for the job.
Contemplating an 80 l fuel tank with a crossfeed valve
I dont think that will be enough,
hijack a petrol tanker and park it by your house to keep the genset working for months/Years at a time.
I mean in Zim, people dont even remember what is electricity...
