Road trip. Jhb to Cpt then up the west coast and back home

The idea is to take 3 weeks over December to do this. Maybe travel down on the coastal route and come back via inland route. I would love to hear suggestions of places to stay over/spend a few days. Especially west coast side as I've never been there.

Cheap and cheerful with an unexpectedly good restaurant. Makes a good half way point. Not sure if there is much to see in the area I’ve only ever stayed there overnight.

Very near the first one but more of a stay for a couple of days and relax next to the river kind of vibe.

Other side on the border of the Eastern Cape almost but a very tranquil place just outside Oudtshoorn.

Yeah not fussy. Will do a day stay over or more of there's things to do.

Not looking for 5 star but not looking for roach motel either.
