Well, after multiple false starts they seemed to have resolved our local outage after 2hrs - almost a load shed period :)

... we're OK on stage 1 but stage 2 will get us this evening :(

Phone ahead and beg them not to switch you off because you had an outage earlier!

Hmmm, there's a plan. They credit us for abnormal outages which we can draw against during load shedding :D

Tell them that you draw your power from Soweto.

How does this help me? I don't understand any of this. I want to know when MY NEIGHBOURHOOD is loadshedding, I don't give a damn about Putsonderwater, Joburg or Cape Town. How do I get alerts? Tshwane group 3.

Gridwatch has me down for 22:30-00:00. Oh well, I guess it's better than the 20:00-22:00 last night...

Can we not embed Gridwatch here next to one of the many adverts so that we do not get a new thread for this every day?

I use Firefox + ABP. Never seen an ad here. I suspect many others do too. I do not believe there anything wrong with keeping members informed. Costs nothing plus many members are not FB members and probably rely on MBB for daily updates anyway.

All in one place. As soon as it is predicted/announced :)

my phone tells me immediately whats happening. again gridwatch. pushes all info relating to stages and saved locations.

Also when you block ads here you are working against mybroadband's only income. shame on you!

Wanna start paying for membership?

Surely you unblock ads when its comp time right?

LOL, this is a classic. Two EC guys arguing :p Got the whole of SA to argue with...choose me instead :D
No prob. I have ABP enabled for all sites I visit. I used to use IE and it got to the stage where I got gatvol. I am not a person that likes ads...never buy anything anyway...so a nuisance for me. I like a nice clean ad free browsing experience.
I would rather happily donate R50 a month to MBB to keep them going if they need cash. Ad's no way.
Competitions...don't enter those things.

Just me neighbor :)
