Ah I am up for load shedding from 18:00 to 20:00 Guess I will use that time slot as my afternoon/evening nap time.

EDIT: Just a random thought I had, as I was heading back for East London... I know there are a lot of wind turbines around PE... do these wind turbines generate power for PE and perhaps other surrounding area's? Shouldn't PE also have times where it can avoid Stage 1 because of the power from the wind turbines?

The shedding is almost worth it to see the lights go out in J'bay while the red warning lights on top of the turbines blink merrily. If there was enough ambient light you'd be able to see the smugness drain from their faces.

I really thought I was going to be load shedding from 18:00 to 20:00 (the load shedding app says my street is supposed to load shed at 18:00 to 20:00) and it the shedding happens now!

Looks like I'm in Block 09 and not Block 10

Doubt they've been generating much the last couple of weeks as we've had virtually windless conditions - so much for renewables.

So if your Stage 1 and 2 are both 16:00 to 18:30 then it is now 17:00 to 18:30

Don't see what's so confusing? No load shedding between 4pm and 5pm.

Stage 1 from 5pm to 6pm. Stage 2 from 6pm to 8pm. Then back to Stage 1 from 8pm to 10pm.

It is confusing - those who are on stage 2 from 4 to 6.30, will they get cut for half an hour at 6pm ?

No, they wont. That extra half-hour is just a buffer to switch the power back on after the allocated 1-2 hours of load shedding has been served.
