Goalposts keep moving. Co-CT: STAGE 1 LOADSHEDDING FROM 18:00 TO 20:30. LOADSHEDDING DURING OTHER PERIODS WILL BE AVOIDED DUE TO THE CITY HAVING SPARE GENERATION CAPACITY AVAILABLE TONIGHT

^ Typical Eskom, totally clueless as to what the other hand is doing!

Anyway, City of Cape Town will now start at 6pm and stop at 8pm tonight.

The only thing this really means though is that we all know Eskom is having a bit of a tantrum....

I can just imagine Brian sitting in his plush office at milliwatt Park saying "They turned us down? Don't they know who we are? Turn the fekkers off".

Nope, it was long suspected they were just turning off the OCGT's to save diesel in the evenings and on weekends, which was confirmed during Molefe's application to NERSA begging for more diesel money.

I suspect Stage 2 by 1800, cause I am scheduled S2 at 2000 :D

Monday load shedding in the evenings is nothing new after saving diesel on the weekends as well. They are saving it for business hours, not to keep us warm.

How he could fathom and make a statement months ago that there would be no blackouts in winter when demand really spikes is beyond comprehension.

The fact is, if they don't run those OCGT's, we will have more blackouts. Major ones if other segments of the supply experience problems.

They need R15bn/pa, and they have to get it one way or another.
The average consumer is the low hanging fruit to pick up this tab.

I know reality, but I'm stoking the conspiracy theorist fires :D
