How does this work?! How can you have worse loadshedding at a lower level (Stage 2 for eg) but not at a higher level?

For me, as an example, this coming Thursday I have the following stage loadshedding scenarios:

Stage 1 - 00:00 to 02:30
Stage 2 - 00:00 to 02:30 AND16:00 to 18:30
Stage 3 - 00:00 to 02:30 AND16:00 to 18:30 AND 08:00 to 10:30

As the stages ramp up, the times remain the same.

Load shedding for my group started at 5pm and this is the first time I've been able to try out the new generator. Well it works as expected and the property has power. It's a bit louder than I expected, but I can forgive that on account of it powering 3+ desktop PC's, two fridges, two freezers, all the lights and all the TV's.

Nah I would have done in the same in their position. I couldn't believe how loud the generator was - like starting a boat. If there aren't relatively quiet generators available we'll have to get one of those powerwall things.
