They predicted a low chance of loadshedding Today so I'm sure there has been a loss of capacity.

More likely just filling up dams and refueling diesel together with a slightly higher demand than anticipated.

It's not particularly cold yet (Sun 14th). A major front with rain and snow will arrive between Mon 15th and Wed 17th. Expect further pressure on the grid...

P.S. The Power Alert graph went directly from yellow (stable) to black (load-shedding) at 5pm, so something must have broken! See: http://www.poweralert.co.za/poweralert5/index.php

As long as it doesn't go stage 3 I have missed todays one, would have had 12-14:00 if stage 2, nothing on stage 1 sundays for me :)
