You're lucky, cresta centre was in darkness yesterday, even WW was closed. Clearwater must've had record sales.

Whispers to ladies: shops in clearwater are open till 7 on Saturdays :D

People are over this. In the beginning everyone was like 'ag no shame man - I will just come back later', lately people expect businesses to have backup power. At the very least lights and till points. In larger shops like PnP and WW, they expect everything to be on.

Huge strain on businesses to acquire and run backup generators or battery banks. I spend a whole wack of cash on a genny recently to keep my customers from shouting at us.

but gridwatch is soooooo much easier.

you get a notification about 30min before general LS starts, just before your area is kicked, and when LS is over.

Gridwatch can keep track of eskom and municipal shedules. You just look up and save the areas you require info on.

No stressing with looking up sites and searching for your area(s) again, and again, and again...

And if you wish to check the schedules in between then just click on refresh.

Clearwater also has power backup in general. So most lights are back on in less than a minute, though a little darker than with normal power.

That's why I was surprised at WW. If shops, and businesses for that matter, don't find alternative power sources they'll be trampled in the rush to spend elsewhere.

Our local WW had a sign up for some time, babbling on about how they have generators. Now it's just like me'h, people are used to it and it's just how it is now.

It's terrible actually, how we can come to accept something within a matter of month, without any civil up rise against government.

Family read something about a total blackout on Thursday in a newspaper. Anybody know something about this?

If you see it like that it means it did not load properly or something is blocked on your connection for it not to load. That website work on all devices and browsers even though it says not supported.

If loadshedding was not active then it would be green like that but they write it like this "Not Load Shedding" if the page did not load sproperly then the first letter in Not is a small letter. That is how you know.
