Eish, so why does PE need to shed so much compared to say Pretoria / Tshwane? There the schedule basically is:
Stage 1: one 2-2.5 hour slot every second day
Stage 2: one 2-2.5 hour slot every day
Stage 3: three 2-2.5 hours slots per day

One of those stage 3 slots normally also fall in the 22:00-6:00 period, so one will mostly miss it.

Well the sun's out, the wind's not howling, the lake that was the back garden has receded and I'm scheduled for 2hr blackouts at 13:00 & 19:00.

... things could be worse as Gen Custer said just before the 2nd wave of Indians came over the hill :)

Three sessions in one day... that's harsh :( Didn't know Port Elizabeth does 1 and half hour load shedding sessions.

They cut our power the other night for 15 minutes.

Five hours accumulated today  My to do lists includes refuelling the generator. The kids are back at school tomorrow so at least they'll be going to bed early.

We had an unscheduled 15mins blackout around 14:00 yesterday, I'm hoping the muni will decide our substation is unstable and remove us from the load shedding a'la Sunridge/Linton Grange area - guess I'll find out at 13:00 :whistling:

The substation in Mount Croix also conked out twice last week... outside of unplanned planned blackout time.

Just back from shopping, Pick'n'Pay Newton Park have a special on a rechargeable LED lantern good for 60hrs with USB phone charger port @ R249. Don't need one myself but it looks like good value (the brand escapes me now - think it was Blizzard?).

... BTW the weather's a vast improvement on the past couple of days :)

Was that you taking one or two of the units out of the box at the table? My wife vetoed my idea of buying another one!

Nah, think Morecombe & Wise, I'm the tall good-looking one with a limp atm :D

... I just hefted one and was impressed by the weight - reckon it's good for the 60hrs they claim.

There can't be too many people willing to suffer PnP Newton Park surely?
They've got the cheapest decent drywors in the stores I visit also Dr Hahns tinned pet food for my Labs. Added bonus is you can always get parking :)

... oh, and I get R2 off my next visit - apparently something was cheaper elsewhere :D
