We have to load shed to run Eskom's pumps to pump diesel/gas? It just sounds dumb that engines (generators) have to be shutdown to refueling external fuel storage tanks - especially on the diesel side. So 80ties.

Actually they can store electricity. I was also toying with the idea, but I doubt if the neighbours will like a water tank on a tower in my yard.

Read up about pumped storage. We have two pumped storage schemes in SA: Drakensberg and Palmiet. I've been to both and seen them in operation.

I get hit at 8am and at 2pm and miss the 10pm slot.

I hope they stay at Stage 2. If they drop to S1 in the late afternoon then I get the 8pm slot again.
