So will definitely be stage 2 tonight... luckily my slot is now for stage, and nothing if on stage 1.

If it starts this early it means water levels and diesel levels will run low. Might see a weekend of loadshedding if they can't get what ever went down due to technical faults back up.

Using the Steenbras dam for extra capacity, so no need to implement before then.

(Although confusingly on their Twitter account, they said Stage 2 or who were having S1 load-shedding from 8am-10.30am)

As I was driving to work the announcer on FMR (local station) said traffic lights will be out in Century City at 8am, due to loadshedding. Hence my confusion.

I wonder what will happen if Eskom jumps to stage 2 loadshedding later, will the CoCT jump to stage 2 as well during 16:00 to 22:30

There's not much worse than getting up and there's no electricity. We got the 0600 to 0830 slot today. I had to fiddle around in the dark to get the generator going so that we at least had some light. Luckily the geyser was still nicely warm so hot water wasn't a problem.

I can accept load shedding if I know when to expect it.

City Power had Randpark Ridge on Block 8B and then changed the blocks and times of load shedding. Randpark Ridge moved from 8B to 6B. But the load shedding still occurs at the same times as 8B (the old Block and suburbs).

To complicate things, City Power says they mitigate the effect of load shedding... sometimes.

This morning they tweet that Eskom switched off a substation in Randburg without their "acknowledgement". Huh? What does this mean?

Clowns! They're all clowns!
