We were already 3000MW short for most of the week, strip out an additional 3000MW and they might as well declare this week a national holiday for everyone as no Eskom blackout stages make allowances for that amount it seems.

Safety: Duvha's excellent safety record is proven by the fact that it has been awarded
NOSCAR status twice already by the National Occupational Safety Association (NOSA).
The last award was made in March 2001.

On 8 January 2003, Unit 2 generator explodes while being returned to service after a malfunction.[3] On 9 February 2011 another unit failed catastrophically while performing over speed testing.[4][5] The units are over speed rated at 3600rpm and the last recorded speed before failure was 4250rpm.

The first power station in South Africa to have a black power station manager, Ehud Matya.

That is potentially 3600 MW off the grid if they shut it down and if it was at full capacity.

It will be dark but Sneeky will be drunk :D

edit: 3000 MW as Duvha has 6x600MW capability.

My usual load shedding fallback activity. Bought another case this morning in preparation for the week.

I'm clear on stages 1 and 2.

I have a suspicion that Eskom will go to Stage 3 shortly... and then I throw my toys out of the cot.

Stage 3: 16h00 - 20h30

If this doesn't kick-start me to get the inverter and batteries my missus has asked for, nothing will. I will be in such deep elephant excrement if I don't sort it asap.

Looks like I better go and check the batteries, these unreliable twats can even go over to stage 3 when you need them to. :D
