Seeing we are on the Lappie topic...anyone of you that has had a Lappie for more than 8 Yrs?
Everything still works (battery obviously died years ago)....but still a mean machine from 2006...on everyday from 6AM to maybe 11PM.
Every single day. Still using it as I type here. I never forget years ago on another Forum where "experts" predicted it would not even get through Warranty. You do not want to know the make
Contrary to popular belief with that bunch...things actually last if you take care of them.
In my case I look after my stuff.
Not polish everyday or clean everyday......in my case take an Acer 5680 (top of their range then)...build a nice angled cooling frame so you can type properly. Stick a fan in there to cool things down. Make sure that the cooling you are implementing agrees with the way the lappie was designed to work....some try to push excess heat through the keyboard...others try to get rid of heat by drawing it out of the bottom of the lappie...
Nobody paid attention. As usual. Anyway, XP here with a 2006 Acer that seems to agree with my thinking.
120GB Seagate HDD that I have had to save files to DVD many times and then clean up and life goes on.
Am I backward? Yea maybe. But just trying to prove a point that things can last if treated well...and understood.
