A scarce skill is a qualification or job for which there are too little people in South Africa doing the job. Government would like to set South Africa on a winning economic pathway, by developing the skills of our people and assisting people to find employment more easily.

From a staff member on strike...

Nobody works until the money is paid into our accounts. Danny Jordaan, who made the decision to take away the allowance, refuses to address us and explain why it has not been taken away in all metros, only here with us.

Danny Jordaan pissed-off because he has to pay for his electricity now?

Generator is off for the night - the biggest pain isn't the lack of electricity but not having ADSL.

Hope tomorrow will be a better day
Hope we will have less rain :)
The contractors fixed the lines this morning but until the strikers go back to work there's no one to switch us back on so we wait.

Monday will come, our power will be restored, people will replace the food that's spoiled over the weekend, things will get back to normal… but as far as I'm concerned those guys will remain a-holes.

On Friday there was no electricity in my area for a bit more than 14 hours, then again today for about 8 hours.

Thank you ****ty Power, Eskom, and especially the cANCer party, please do everyone a favour and hitch a ride with the blue light bullies by jumping from a bridge just before the blue light brigade passes underneath.

Today was such a great day, I did everything I needed to do, and no load shedding to disrupt my plans :) Had my heater blazing away!! 5 cups of Douwe Egberts :)

Earlier this week, load shedding reset the ADSL router at my flat :D

Yep, our dishwasher is not working now. :(

Sorry to hear this. I had to shell out R 2,200 a month ago to have ours fixed. The technician attributed it to load shedding and power surge. Grim!

Still no word from nmmm . If you did not have a generator your meat would have been defrosted by now . I think you and your neighbours need to go visit ward councillor ask for damages claims forms

We always unplug all the "fragile" appliances during loadshedding and only plug back in after power is stable.
I know its not always possible (at work etc), luckily we have someone at home 24/7.

Also have Ellies surge protectors on evrything, with R20K warranty submitted and filed.

IMATU. chairman says no work until allowance is paid or policy is revised per law.
