Hi guys ...

I need some advice...i hav got route sentry to work at home and it works 100% now i want to get it working at work to split the internet traffic there, we are using a server which acts as our gateway for the other pc to access email and our server is our email server as well? how can i get route sentry to work across the network?

Thanks

There is a Proxy solution, but I don’t like it. I would recommend you try getting another PC. Install SmoothWall on it.

Network -> Main Server -> Smoothwall PC -> Internet

Smoothwall can also do the same thing as RouteSentry afaik, Easy Easy. :D

thanks, but i need a solution for windows not linux as we are running windows server 2003

The OS that your server is running doesnt matter.
The suggestion was to get another pc, doesnt even have to be a very powerful one, smoothwall becomes your firewall/proxy server.
Being a linux dist you can also setup all your routing with that, no problems!

You tell him that yes. :p
That’s the fun thing of Smoothwall/Linux. It is compatible with *
You can easily control it via any machine that is connected to it. My 100/133/200?mhz P1 is my "SERVER" in the home at the moment. :D

Smoothwall ++
:D
its amazing how basic a pc you can actually get away with and with squidguard its bulletproof too!
