Hi all

So yesterday our internet bombed out. Our ISP is Comtel running on Vuma's fibre. The domestic worker had accidentally disconnected our router (hAP AC2). I plugged it all back in and the internet seemed fine for a bit.

Then all of a sudden only the two access points connected to the main router are visible over wifi, with no internet connection. My dad phoned Comtel, and the guy came to take a look. According to him, it's not a problem on our side, it's Vuma's fault, and he logged a fault and said it'll be fixed by last night or this morning (spoiler, it's still not fixed).

What's strange to me is that the main router isn't visible? Shouldn't it still be discoverable regardless of the internet connection? In the past when Vuma had issues, the main router would still be visible as a wifi network.

I also checked on Downdetector to see if Vuma was out in my area and there were 0 reports.

I would appreciate if someone could explain what's happening here, I don't want to go through the process of resetting the router and getting all the ISP info from my dad to reconfigure.

Thanks!

Hi Christopher

Have you sent an email to Comtel yet? I would suggest you approach your ISP first. Do not make any changes to your main router as you are not managing it. Send an email with the client code and issue. Surely it can be resolved this morning, that's if it is a setting on the router.
