Ok. I need some genius advice and information so take your dunce caps off! I purchased a SMC 7904 Adsl router and set it up with the standard work account adsl details and set it up so everyone is assigned an ip from the routers DHCP and connects directly through as a gateway. Ok now the tricky part. I am trying to get one of my servers to use different account details. So i setup a PPOE account from that machine and it SEEMS to work fine. Authentication goes through like a breeze and it shows the new network connection in my task bar. Traffic appears to be going through that connection as apposed to going through the standard account on the router. My external IP address changes (165 address) when using the PPOE connection but how do i KNOW that the traffic is going through the new account details and not the default? Is it supposed to be possible to use both routing and bridgind at the same time? I haven't set any settings on the router to give it bridging capabilities. Help this noob out pls!
