RT news channel cut from DStv

Just came to my attention that the UK has also pulled the license of CGTN (source BBC News). Any alternative 'propaganda' is just shut down.

Just tried to watch RT and discovered that rt.com is now also blocked on my TV browser. Sorry, correction: After clearing the browser data on the TV, it works again. Before it came up with '403 forbidden'.

Why did you put propaganda in quotes?

Because I do not believe it is propaganda.
Propaganda is communication that is primarily used to influence or persuade an audience to further an agenda, which may not be objective and may be selectively presenting facts

Everything is propaganda. An add on the TV trying to persuade you to by a product is propaganda. The problem is the hypocrisy.

We are for free speech, but only if you stick to the NARRATIVE

RT has been reasonably good. If your cause is just there is no need to lie. They do however omit how corrupt Russia is for example.

Intelligent people require all inputs and views and then through reason arrive at their conclusions. By banning or restricting inputs means you believe you will lose the battle if all inputs are considered. So, no, I am not brainwashed, I merely wish to be exposed to all inputs. Some of RT's programs are propaganda, but so are more of mainstream media programs. Another example is climate change; It went from possibly caused by human activity, to definitely caused by human activity in the media. The elimination of fossil fuels became a histeria, but no consideration is given to the devastating effect 'going green' is going to cause to the environment. Look at www.wearethevoters.com for impacts. I am still working on it and hope to allow for feedback, but I do not have the finances to support bigger storage on the website. I do hope it is a fairly objective analysis, but it will most likely get shut down, as it does not unconditionally support 'going green'.

RT, the Kremlin-backed TV network formerly called Russia Today, is setting up its first Africa bureau as President Vladimir Putin seeks to entrench support in a continent that’s largely refrained from criticising his invasion of Ukraine.

The company said in a response to a query that it’s “currently focused on developing our English-language Africa hub in South Africa”, which will be headed up by Paula Slier, a South African broadcaster who ran RT’s Jerusalem bureau.

People in this country believe the ANC can fix things, so hell...why not?

There waas actually a lady from SA, Paula Slier who occupied and may still occupy a very key role with RT. She is a former SABC Journo.
