New online car licence disc renewal portal launched

The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) has launched an online payment gateway allowing South African motorists to register, renew, and pay for their licence discs online.

The new option is available on the NaTIS online platform and is facilitated by FNB.

Oh please God no.

Can we not just do this the old walk in way instead of this crud? It's the only thing our post office does.

Imagine you have to deal with that site every year and not every 5 years. :(

The article doesn't say other means will stop, so what are you on about?

Ludicrous - which one are we are supposed to use and how can NATIS courier something that is under 1kg and must be delivered by the post office? Why is this not one of government's centralised e-Services any way? My local municipality posts my license disc every year to me at no additional cost - I renew it online with City of Cape Town (as long as I can remember).

I can see my car but there's no option to renew online. Such a terrible site. I think they must have gotten a group of high school kids to build it.

Our Post office that always runs out of license paper, or is offline and only takes cash
Each time we renew our business cars its a different requirement in terms of certified copies of ID , what proof of address they accept , proxy forms etc

Ill happily pay the R99 courier as my time is worth more vs sitting at post office the whole day

What are the benefits of the eNaTIS?

The eNaTIS utilises state-of-the-art technology that will be compatible with
a variety of anticipated systems enhancements. For example, the Department
wants to improve the system to cater for enhanced law enforcement capabilities,
specialised transactions designed to limit physical visits by members of the
public to traffic departments, i.e. transactions done over the internet and by
the use of automated teller machines (ATMs).

Same here. Got options to download, email and sms notice but no option to make payment. Guess I'll be walking in again to a traffic dept again this year...

**** system.

Doesn't show any of my vehicles. You'd think a smart system would have your vehicles listed at all times with their future expiration dates.

It's not like they don't have access to this information.

It would be more comforting if it showed your actual vehicles, then if it isn't within the timeframe of renewal, just write "up to date" or something.
