Traffic laws must be about safety — not making money

The Automobile Association of South Africa (AA) has called for an urgent Parliamentary inquiry into the operational and financial affairs of the Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC).

That formed part of the association's submission to Parliament regarding proposed changes to the RTMC's licence transaction fees.

It's all about making money otherwise those rodents that drive taxi's would be considerate drivers, you know if these asshats actually did police work.

Fair statement.. so why fight the introduction of demerit system which seeks to remove the offending driver from the road instead of the current system which allows them to continue and often cause accidents that should never have happen?

I’m sorry but you can’t make a statement saying one thing to support a case eg with this RTMC cost but simultaneously be a hypocrite and fight introduction of measures meant to remove bad drivers.. pick a side.

Who decides if you're a bad driver in a corrupt system? How do you fight the corruption if the courts are removed?

This is the same RTMC that is supposed to send us vehicle licence renewal letters but do not because they decided not to pay the post office for the service. This is also the same RTMC that charges us eNatis fees even though it was supposed to be a once off fee to cover their incompetent management of the implementation of eNatis. They are just a bunch of thieves, just like most of the government in this country. You can run an organisation as incompetently as you like and then just fleece the public to cover your theft and incompetence because we have no choice, just like Eskdom etc.
