Anyone know of any software capable of recording from rtsp - but only when movement is detected?

I have a camera which has a rtsp stream available, and I'd like to set a specific zone - that it starts recording/capturing pictures if it detects movement in that zone.

It needs to have specified zones though, because there are trees which'll pickup as movement in half the image.

I'm using iSpy on my PC for my outdoor cameras, plenty settings for movement/recording/area triggers ;)

Not sure what you mean by zones?

Zones? Just area's of the image that it monitors, instead of the entire image for movement.

Just read-up on it, looks like it might work - I'll give it a try at home. Thanks :)

Set it up quick over RDP - lets see if I get an email when my domestic leaves ...

Seems this thing likes the shadows - keep getting movement notices. Pain in the arse... trying to tweak it, but so far no go :p

Shadows on the wall set it off.

Want to try and see if I can find an alternative that can run as a service.

I think you can use VLC for this.

Edit: Well, only to view.

I liked Sighthound but if I remember correctly it was quite expensive.

As for motion detection on external IP cameras, I gave up on that, during the day it's shadows and at night it's the moths or spider webs.
