RUGBY: Lions supporters thread !

Pity as they were playing well in the first half and then just fell to pieces in the 2nd.

*sigh*

my prediction for this w'end...

...lions to win by 6

Are you a betting man? For your sake, I hope not...:D

What an atrocious second half performance by the Lions. They played worse than The Sharks did and that takes some doing. I'll admit, I'm really disappointed with the Newlands crowd cheering on Puke Twatson as if he has become some overnight hero with one, maybe two decent performances. He's still a twat and deserves a spear tackle at least once every match to knock the bullschit out of him...

i was also quite shocked at them all cheering him on as though he just won them a trophy.

whatever...

...i just reckon the lions might need a new coach, jake white would do nicely imo

and lets use some of that coca-cola money and invest in a few decent players, and give earl rose back to province

Leon Boshoff Suspension

Johannesburg, 17 March 2009 – Lions Super 14 Forwards Coach Leon Boshoff has been suspended with immediate effect, pending further investigations.

“Allegations have been made against Leon, but until our investigations are complete, we cannot comment further”, Golden Lions Rugby Union CEO Manie Reyneke said.

The Golden Lions Rugby Union will not be replacing Boshoff, whilst the investigations are underway.

^ *sigh*

but anyways, what do you think is the lions' chances for the game against the canes? can they draw the rabbit from the hat?

I've had it up to here (far beyond the head region) with the lions. They threw away a 19 point lead and lost against the Chiefs.

They can stop playing rugby for all i care.

okay, so who is going to the park today? Hoefully not just me?

The next match for the Lions is on 22 August 2009 vs WP at Newlands

I cannot fathom what is wrong with the Lions. They have plenty of talented players but they never to function well as a team.

What's happening, Lions supporters?

//I'm not being nasty or sarcastic, this is a serious question.

...and give earl rose back to province

Hell, I hate to be the fly in the ointment here but, on Earl Rose, I gotta wonder a few things. The biggest thing I have to wonder is if we are not witnessing a self-fulfilling destiny. As a Bulls fan, it really isn't my concern but we all live in Gauteng and if I am gonna get behind another team, it will be the next local boys.

I feel (edit - said fell) Mr Rose has been given an unnecessarily hard time by the fans and media. Frans Ludeke suffered the same. He moved to the Bulls and look at us now. Yes, I know I know, we can't compare.

Still, the thing about the Loftus Faithful is we get behind our team no matter what. Frough fick and fin. And that's loyalty: stand by for a few years while your team eats the scraps at the bottom of the log knowing your glory days are around the corner.

I feel for Rose: he has been fulfilling the expectations of critical fans and media for a while now. It is time for him to drop the chip from his shoulder and show everyone what he can or cannot do. If he can't, he must go. But if he can, I pity the side that disposes of him just to win a popularity contest.
