I wonder if Mitchell is really the magical coach he's made out to be.

He didn't do much with the Force either...

I agree, at the Force he probably had better talent than what he's got at the Lions and he didn't achieve anything there either.

i think it was a culture clash. south african's are much more willing to learn and don't care about where you're from. ozzies not so much. look at deans with the wallabies. he's been in charge of them for a couple of years now, and they still haven't really performed. and nobody doubts that robbie deans is an excellent coach.

The honest problem with the Lions is that they do in fact lack major talent. They have some talent, but nothing to the extent that will make them win permanently. They don't have a Captain, and I mean they don't have a potential captain in that entire squad. They have bought players from everywhere, but really only revived a dying team with a passable one. Desperation won't win you all your games, which is what they are now banking on; how badly they want to win. Lets just hope that James and Steyn join the Lions otherwise I don't see this team getting anywhere anytime soon. Look at the Rebels, they bought plenty of talent and experience, they have won more than the Lions so far. A brand new team winning more than a team that has been established for quite some time; albeit rebuilding - that I see is a major eye-opener. They need to select players wisely, which is not being done in my opinion, playing Vermaak in place of Kocket? Come one, I thought they wanted to win? Mitchel needs to use the axe now and put the right players in the starting 15.
