I'm assuming that's a 12v battery which is 1.26kWh.

What loads were you running on it and for how long? Also what was your charging amps.

Ideally you should only run 5A loads on this battery over a 20 hour period which would take it to 50% DOD and then charge at 5A. Anything higher than this will negatively impact the battery.

5A at 12v is a 60w load.
Maybe it was a 105Ah C10 (10 hour)?

Oh well, was interested in the cycle and stand by voltage recommendations written on the side to see if it was compatible with the mecer. How did the warranty route go?
Denied as it apparently reached its cycles. Ended up selling them to a junk yard for R500 a battery

No idea but what I've seen from lead acid battery specifications is that they tend to be on the optimistic side with only the best case scenario listed.

When looking at lithium batteries it tends to be more balanced and even looking at solar panels the specification are not far from real world results with manufacturers listing not only STC results that can be expected.

I'm only expecting 4 000 cycles from my pylontech battery bank before it reaches 80% SOH but even then I'm still going to be using them for good few years after that.

4 000 cycles is already over 10 years at 1 cycle per day.

Yeah, I've seen YT vids where they capacity deep cycle LA's using the 10 or 20 hour values and you still don't get the rated Ah out of it.

This all sounds like I'm going to get *&€#'d over when I purchase backup systems

Is it necessary to know the technical side? Just need to find someone that is somewhat reputable and still around in a few years...

Just post what you will be getting and the price here.

There's enough people here that can let you know if you are being screwed over, what you can expect from the batteries and if its the right solution to your needs.

One more thing.

I knew nothing about any of this until I decided to spend my money.

You will need to understand some of the technical side but that's only to protect yourself from being taken for a ride or sold something that over or under spec.
