Running an XBox through a PC to run XBox Live

Howzit guys here is a friend of mines situation... stays in a outhouse running wireless on a pc in is room to the ADSL modem in the main house... now is it at all possible to run his xbox though his pc into the main house and then go on xbox live etc...i know about internet sharing etc but this is not an option as the username is in the router already and he only has one account(uncapped) any ideas guys?

this is what i would think- where you use the pc's ip as the gateway ip on your xbox.

make a pppoe that is shared (ICS) and when you want the xbox to be connected dial the pppoe and then just switch on the xbox.

thanks for the reply so u saying on the xbox u set the gateway ip as the pcs ip.... i want to avoid using the dial up pppoe will i NEED to do the dial up pppoe or will the gateway in the xbox work?

Could he not just bridge the connection between the wireless and wired on his pc and then plug is xbox in to his pc with a lan cable? Therefore connecting the xbox straight to the router in a sense?

yeah a good question please let us know if you bridge a connection if it will work and would you need a crossover cable. trying to figure out the actually meaning of bridging a connection

I reckon the bridging option should work fine, but you'll probably have to mess around with it for a bit to get it to work.
Alternatively, get a Wireless Access Point that can do WDS with his ADSL router, then plug the Xbox and PC into that.
Edit: Oh, that's what that link was about (from Necuno). Well there you go then.

OMG!!! youre a freaking genius!!!! y didnt i freaking think of that!!!!! we will try both thanks to both of you!
