Running OS X on OS X

Hi All

I have been trying to get OS X 10.6 to run on VirtualBox on my wife's Macbook Pro with OS X 10.10. The reason is a long and laborious explanation which involves the word Freehand Basically it's theoretically possible to do this but requires black magic and other mystical forces, which I am running short of at the moment, so ...

Are there any other solutions out there that would suffice? Apart from convincing my better half to let bygones be bygones

VMware Fusion works for this. I've never been able to get OSX to work in VirtualBox.
