Maybe they need to investigate Capt. John Kelly's millions while they're at it ...
American officials provided a written briefing in late February to President Trump laying out their conclusion that a Russian military intelligence unit offered and paid bounties to Taliban-linked militants to kill U.S. and coalition troops in Afghanistan, two officials familiar with the matter said.
The investigation into the suspected Russian covert operation to incentivize such killings has focused in part on an April 2019 car bombing that killed three Marines as one such potential attack, according to multiple officials familiar with the matter.
The intelligence that assessed there was an effort by a Russian military intelligence unit to pay the Taliban to kill US soldiers was included in one of President Donald Trump's daily briefings on intelligence matters sometime in the spring, according to a US official with direct knowledge of the latest information.
A senior Conservative MP is seeking an urgent question in the Commons on Monday about an alleged plot that a Russian intelligence unit offered Taliban-linked fighters bounties to kill coalition troops in Afghanistan.
British security officials have confirmed to Sky News that the reports about the plot are true.

SourceIt was a shock on arriving at the New York Times in 2004, as the paper’s movie editor, to realize that its editorial dynamic was essentially the reverse. By and large, talented reporters scrambled to match stories with what internally was often called “the narrative.” We were occasionally asked to map a narrative for our various beats a year in advance, square the plan with editors, then generate stories that fit the pre-designated line.
Reality usually had a way of intervening. But I knew one senior reporter who would play solitaire on his computer in the mornings, waiting for his editors to come through with marching orders. Once, in the Los Angeles bureau, I listened to a visiting National staff reporter tell a contact, more or less: “My editor needs someone to say such-and-such, could you say that?”Er, wow. This is like some right-winger’s parody of what the NYT is like. But there it is, from an insider. The bigger shock came on being told, at least twice, by Times editors who were describing the paper’s daily Page One meeting: “We set the agenda for the country in that room.”
Your first link is wrong.
Really suspicious that they just say "insider" who is the orginal source. If it's businessinsider why don't they use their full name. However, three NATO military officials told Insider
He. Said. He Wasn't. Briefed. About. It.Your first link is wrong.
Firstly they struggle with basic facts
Trump didn't say he doesn't know about it. His tweet is clear. He asked US intel to look into it and they confirmed it isn't credible. (They're spinning this way too much)
Secondly unanimous made up sources.
"3 NATO officials as apposed to the spokesperson for NATO with a name."
Really suspicious that they just say "insider" who is the orginal source. If it's businessinsider why don't they use their full name.
And may I add that you look rather stupid trying to support this bumbling snake oil salesman?Nobody briefed or told me, @VP Pence, or Chief of Staff @MarkMeadows about the so-called attacks on our troops in Afghanistan by Russians, as reported through an “anonymous source” by the Fake News @nytimes. Everybody is denying it & there have not been many attacks on us.....

In your own link they briefed him the next day. We are currently past that and he is now briefed. Still reporting that he doesn't know is stupid and dishonest.He. Said. He Wasn't. Briefed. About. It.
