Aaaah good, ty

Pretty sure I read somewhere stating it would be Gripens. It would be interesting find out why they didn't show up. Perhaps hey escorted the other Tu 160.

But yeah imagine MiG 25's escorting a Tu-160. Not that it would be possible.

IN-FLIGHT refueling
Couple of airports along the way that the tankers could land and fill up at.
Have a look at the airlift that got the CUBANS and their weapons to ANGOLA

No, I think it would have been impossible cause there's only a handful of 25's still in service.

Maybe they accidentally drop one over Nkandla, since Putin hasn't been paid back his bribe money from Zuma, for the Russian Nuclear power station
and one each on the union buildings and luthuli house when they are filled to the brim with their usual occupants

These days the Russians would escort the bombers with an SU-27 or MIG-29.

These days only Syria, Lybia and Algeria still operate the MIG-25.

One of the only fighter that kind of got close to intercepting an SR-71. The MIG-31 could as well.
