Russia using a nuclear power plant to shield troops from Ukraine attacks

Russia is likely using the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine to shield its troops and equipment, undermining the safety of the plant’s operations, according to European intelligence officials.

This was reported on weeks ago already...and is such dramatic nonsense that makes zero tactical sense in any military offensive.

What do they think will happen when those forces LEAVE that area to actually go and fight...

So the west is saying that russia is bombing the nuclear plant (or close to).
Also that russia has occupied the nuclear plant, and workers are russian.

So if I understand it right, russia is bombing themselves while they work on the nuclear plant that they occupy.
That doesnt sound right.

Plant workers are Ukrainian hostages. Russia shelled a power line leading to the plant, three remote radiation monitors and the area near the spent fuel storage area. They didn't "shell themselves".

Russia is storing vehicles, equipment and ammunition in the reactor buildings. The "tactical" advantage is that Ukraine can no longer shell them. Makes sense, no?
