Still waiting for proof that Ukranian soldiers are firing on Russians from amongst civillians thereby putting their own people at risk? The human shield narrative is the sort of thing sh*tty commanders dredge up to excuse: 1) their incompetence or : 2) their callous disregard for civillian casualties.

So putting yourself in the shoes of an Ukranian soldier where will your fighting position be to give a higher chance of survival with a javelin against airstrikes and tanks of the enemy?
Putting yourself in the shoes of a Russian soldier why waste ammo on a building that doesn't show any threat?

That's all they ever do. They seldom target military installations. Their focus is residential areas.

Over a month ago already:
The education of 5.5 million children has been turned upside down by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with an average of 22 schools a day coming under attack, according to Save the Children.

At least 869 education facilities have been damaged, the statistics reveal, with 83 completely destroyed.

Russians are bombing everything, attacking everyone. There is no "building that doesn't show any threat".

Sure, buildings make a lot of sense for cover, but if I was a soldier taking pot shots at a tank, I wouldn't take shelter in a building filled with friends and relatives, because seriously if they aren't fighting to defend them then what are they fighting for? Am pretty sure Ukrainian soldiers would make damn sure to tell civillians to get out of dodge or avoid firing from buildings that are actively being used by civillians as shelter.

Am still trying to figure out the entire point of this invasion from a Russian perspective so am not sure it's a good idea to assume that Russian Soldiers are acting logically... This is an army that has been told repeatedly that they are fighting Nazis, perhaps soldiers and civillians are all the same to them?

Russia has been supplying arms to one side of a civil war for years, why do you suddenly think that they will start acting decently when they decide to actually invade?

The Russian soldier is there to murder as many Ukrainians as possible as per the wishes of Putin.

There is no other reasonable explanation for the actions of the Russian military in Ukraine.

Based on azovstal, it doesn't seem to be the case, with the UA commander continuously emphasizing how many civilians they have with them when coming to report online, despite the Russian side saying civilians and anyone who wants to give up arms can come out.

In the same boat as you here- Putin's intentions are unclear, but if no consideration was given to civilians why not go the route of leveling all major cities starting with Kyiv just via airstrikes.

They could have just leveled the cities down via airstrikes then, no need for human casualties (see Yugoslavaia or Afghanistan war model).

They are surrounded. They have nowhere else to go.

despite the Russian side saying civilians and anyone who wants to give up arms can come out.

What Russia says and Russia does are very different things. As in this case when they broke ceasefire agreement and fired at evacuees.

Very weird that a military decides to attack another country instead of protecting their own. Had they not mobilised the past 70 days, russian military could have easily intervened and help with disaster management (yes militaries also help with things like that. Recent example is SA military helping during the KZN flooding).

Usually RU military would assist in fire fighting in the siberia area. I wonder why they can't now?:
