Looking at this, this is not a situation that is going to be resolved with war. What this is to me is an eternal meat grinder; each side can simply fall back to safety, regroup and rearm. Russia cannot outflank Ukraine without stepping on NATO toes and they wont risk going in too deep and Ukrainians cannot outflank or end this without destroying all of Russia. This is a war of attrition is what this map is. They need to both stop ****ing around now and come to the table instead of dragging this out. This can go on for decades.

Ukrainians obviously want their country, all of it. Russians have no right to be there. If someone breaks into your house and says he is taking your bathroom, you don't just say OK, you can have it, just stop hitting me.

This shows exactly what an NLAW does to a tank.

And Russian tanks have carousel autoloaders. The idea behind this was that in case of nuclear attack and acute radiation sickness, the loader would be to weak to load the gun so the crew could still operate the tank until they all succumbed but at least they were able to advance and fight for a few more days. The tanks had light armour but good shielding against radiation and the idea here was that NATO infantry soldiers would themselves be suffering acute radiation poisoning and would not be able to shoot at the tanks, after the Soviet nuke attacks.

The view from Russia, these people are mad, the article is in the link and is long (but mental).

Disclaimer: What you are about to read is a direct translation of an article written by a russian propagandist. This is what real #Russia wants. Please read and share. This text will soon be translated into other languages so that everyone in the world can read about Russia’s crimes.

The original article in Russian is here. In case of deletion — a link to the web archive.

This is the article that was published by the Russian state-owned news agency RIA Novosti (Russian: РИА Новости). This media through the years was one of the main voices of Russian propaganda and fake news.

RIA Novosti is known for its systematic support of the Kremlin, violation of journalistic standards and works according to so-called “temnik” (directives and agendas from the government). The position in this article corresponds to the position of Russia.

This particular article is an indication of the Russian main narrative right now. RIA Novosti is trying to hide Russian crimes and spread cynical lies about the Ukrainian army, but also to provide media support for a full-scale program of destroying independent Ukraine.

"Combatants"

At around 11:00 on 17 March, Yuriy Nechyporenko and his father, Ruslan, were cycling to Bucha's administration building where aid was being handed out. Electricity, gas and water had been cut, and essentials were in short supply in the town, one of the first to be occupied by Russian forces as they advanced on Ukraine's capital Kyiv.

Yuriy and his father hoped to pick up some medicine and food. Yuriy said a Russian soldier stopped him and his father on Tarasivska St. They immediately raised their hands.

Speaking to the BBC by phone alongside his mother, Alla, the 14-year-old gave his account of what happened next. "We told them that we weren't carrying any weapons and that we didn't pose any danger," he said.

"Then my father turned his head my way, and that's when he got shot… He was shot twice in the chest, right where the heart is. Then he fell."

At that point, the teenager said, the soldier shot him in his left hand and he fell too. While he was on the ground, he said, he was shot again, this time in the arm.

"I was lying on my stomach, I couldn't see anything that was happening around me," Yuriy said. The soldier, he said, shot again, aiming at his head. "[But] the bullet went through my hood."

Yuriy said the soldier shot again, this time at his father's head. But Ruslan was already dead. "I had a small panic attack, lying there with my wounded arm underneath me. I saw that my hand was bleeding," he said.

It was only after a while, when the soldier went behind a tank, that Yuriy got up and ran, he said.

Possibly, though the Ukrainian military forces are in a massively better position than a month ago, I don't think the Russians can change tactics and if they attack with tanks again it won't go well. Today on TV it was mentioned that Shorts in Belfast were working overtime on NLAW production, I'd presume Raytheon will be doing similar in the US, the Ukrainians are also getting another delivery of the Switchblade system as well. The Russians have no real defence against any of them, bizarrely their much vaunted AD systems can't handle simple slow drones either.

Another interesting stat is that Russia have now lost 10% of their total number of Ka-52 Alligators. How sustainable is that with Ukraine now possessing more and better anti-air systems?
They gonna need so much more Dave.
The Gen in this MSNBC interview sums it up perfectly.
As an aside he mentions the US and their $300m latest contribution to the effort, then states that in Iraq they were spending $9bn a month. Some context I suppose.
The most important bit is he lays it down well as to what sort of equipment the Ukr will require to nip this in the bud so to speak.

This is what it sounds like when a dictator suffers a significant military loss, and starts worrying about retirement prospects.

Russia doesn't have the right to go into another sovereign country and interfere with their internal problems
indeed, no country does, yet the USA has done it for decades to dozens of countries with complete impunity

if you want to talk interference in other sovereign states, start with the pariah first

I posted proof that some of the bodies were lying in the streets mid March from 4 different sources.
Only one source. New york times.

A secondary source quoting the first does not = a new source.

Lets wait and see when they run out of foreign currency, or when they default. Your post will not age well
They cannot run out of foreign currency and a default would only help Russia.
