Luhansk Oblast governor: Russia building up troops for offensive in 3-4 days. According to Serhiy Haidai, Russian forces continue to attack Popasna city with Grad rocket launchers and aircraft on April 6, adding that the evacuation of civilians is happening under fire.

if the mud season dries up or is over, it will allow the russians to move cross country and not stick to the roads and have to go through towns, a major advantage to them

The mud season will last through most of April, next week is rainy again. The Ukrainians have dug vasts amounts of trenches in the East as well so its less efficient to go off road.

12 minutes in...

Peter Hitchens - "The whole invasion, if it was an invasion, has been beheaded...."?

If...???
One would have to have a debate with him to know precisely what he meant by that.

It is a little known fact that in WW2 France actually invaded germany before Germany invaded France. (lookup Saar offensive)
It might be said of THAT offensive; so pathetic that it is almost entirely forgotten; "IF that was an offensive......"

I don't know whether this has been posted, but Ukraine announced to have pushed back the Southern Russian advance,

The Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the following villages and settlements in the Kherson region: Dobryanka, Novovoznesenskoe and Trudolyubovka.

The head of the Krivoy Rog military administration Alexander Vilkul specified that these settlements were in the most dangerous southern direction from Krivoy Rog, and now the Armed Forces of Ukraine are there.

Glory to Ukrainian soldiers!

this is real good Ukrainian news. Say this is true, then the Russians might surrender their advance on Kryvyi Rih and their possible manoeuvre to capture the Dnieper's Northern bank to advance on Zaporizhzhia. This Ukrainian counter could be the beginning to encapsulate the Russians within Kherson, but Kherson won't be easily retaken, Russia took Kherson by surprise and Ukraine has ‘suspended’ those who were in charge.

The Russians could surrender the whole Northern bank, which would mean that they would have to abandon their plans to move on Odessa Oblast, an event which will be most desired by Ukraine.

I am really clueless on military stuff, I thought it looks like resupply , heading towards Chernihiv

The Russians has withdrawn all Belarusian incursion vectors,

it is only parts Sumy still being under contention in North Eastern Ukraine, which I believe the Russians will withdraw as soon as the Russians converge on the Eastern axis.

Mobile crematoriums burning tens of thousands bodies?

Wonder why India didn't think of that when they ran out of cremation space

Maybe @surface will know
Most Indians believe in reincarnation so probably they will be born again as your kid or a cow or something.

Kherson isn't an easy spot to defend however, especially from the Western side. There is only one bridge coming in from the East so Ukraine could just target that. Also the river can be crossed via canoe.

Born again as a cow? Cows are supposedly sacred to Indians, do they all want to be born again as a cow?

Yes , that's why I got curious about this column...its been moving from Russia to Minsk and down...I would be surprised if Russia has any forces to spare sitting on the border, but all this is above my knowledge

You don't seem to understand logic
no that would be you

There is no whataboutism in asking in the Russo-Ukrainian war if the consequences of Russia invading was Ukrainian civilian deaths. I'm not asking "what about" anything
yes you are, you implied the poor boy lost his mother because of Russia, upon being challenged for proof that Russia is directly responsible you did in fact switch to the invasion being responsible ... "what about the invasion" paraphrased is still whataboutism

not to mention it is an indirect connection, if a Ukrainian soldier shot his mother point blank in the head is it more Russia's fault for invading, or is it the ******* with the gun that shot her?

Aaaw shlt dude...

Want to continue? Sure, the USA has done the same thing, but are you really going to continue covering your eyes to what your favourite dictator is doing in Ukraine? Or has done in the past 14 years?
wikipedia?

aaaaw **** dude, shall I go conjure up a new page saying Russia is innocent?
