Without understanding emotion; anger, fear, you will never truly understand the facts. You will see mowed down civilians, butchered and dismembered, and the facts will never add up.
Listen to your own advice and consider Russians feelings.

people give the US army crap about their campaigns but their rules of engagement are very clear and they do punish people who violate them (most of the time anyway)
nobody ever got punished for this, despite international pressure for an independent investigation it was investigated by the US themselves who unsurprisingly found themselves innocent:

Exactly! And Putin plays on those same angers and fears every day. Now these fired up, angry chest beating and afraid Russian soldiers head into Ukraine with a head full of emotion.

I've noticed that not one person here , who opposes Russia's war, tried to excuse the soldiers who shot the Russian POWs. Not one whatabout comment. This is the best example of the difference between propaganda, and free speech and moral values.

Anyway, on the subject why Ukrainian fighters ( btw, in the tweet they were doing face recognition, showing Chechen mercenary?)will do such a thing

Ukrainian reporter Evgeny Spirin spoke of the harrowing cruelty Putin's men had inflicted upon civilians - specifically women and children.
He said: "Some of the killed children had their arms tied up. Children…. They were tying up children.
"There were shot dogs. Killed women. Irpen, Bucha, Dmitrievka. How to live with this, and is it worth living at all?
"How do I explain this to myself, how? They must cease to exist.
"They must all be destroyed, each and every one of them, turned into dust, into mud, into clay, all of them."

The more horrific a war becomes, the more horrific the resistance.
Not excusing it in any ways, but I do understand the soldiers seeing their relatives, friends, neighbours, being butchered by Russian soldiers escalating to executing POWs which they see as responsible.

Yeah, that was a travesty. Same as the farcical punishment for the soldiers who perpetrated My Lai and Trump pardoning that Navy Seal that actually got found guilty of committing war crimes.

Many of them do things that seem to defy logic and are without factual basis. Their decisions in battle are based on feelings of superiority and their interaction with POW's and the civilians are based on anger and fear. Terrible things happen. All I'm saying is that, when you take these things into consideration, the facts of what happened on the ground start to marry in with the mindset and emotional state of the soldiers.

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, denies it’s a duck, demands you prove it's a duck, accuses you of being a duck, says your dog is a duck, that your friend's cat is a duck & that all 3 'ducks' are Russophobic ducks paid to be crisis actors, it’s a Kremlin duck

This is so f true of all the russian scum on MyBB

Well the things you imagine them doing is not factual, that's just your emotions. And that is my point. Your emotions are not valid, especially when you make up BS.

It might have given them the false impression that this invasion of Ukraine would be easier. And it was to some extent they mostly met their militaty objectives on day 2, that doesn't indicate there is any intent from Russia to occupy any part of Ukraine.

They might have underestimated how many Ukrainians Zelensky was willing to sacrifice, because they themselves didn't want harm civilians or destroy cities.
No one forced the people to protest, they decided themselves in the majority and continue to. Russia was not wanted or needed, the Ukrainians have shown. If they perceive Zelensky to be an issue they will remove him through democracy.

So you start your post saying that not one here tried to excuse the soldiers and then you end your post trying to excuse them?

OH and we had this gem
Saw the video on Reddit yesterday, and a user commented that the one Russian had agonal breathing, and that is why that soldier was shot.

They annexed Crimea because of the strong pro-Russian sentiment, which isn't as much in the eastern regions. The ease with which they took Crimea must have led to them believing they can easily march through the country towards Kyiv.
Using that analogy though, and with the strong Russian sentiment in RSA, they could always annex here.

Invading a country to cleanse it of 2-3000 Nazi's who have apparently taken over the country?
Running away and abandoning equipment when coming under fire?
Wholesale abandonment of equipment?
Slaughtering of civilians?
Russian soldiers going AWOL en-masse even turning on their own commanding officers?
The attempt to capture Kiyv without actually invading it and then abandoning that attempt after a week of sitting around setting houses on fire?

Do these seem like decisions based on facts?

Most of that is your false emotional view based on one sided propaganda you consumed. Very few of it is even partially factual.

thousands of tons of food aid delivered to Ukraine citizens in occupied cities
Russian military rations all over the show ... even in pictures of some "Bucha massacre" victims

why would anyone be gullible enough to think Russian soldiers or the people in cities they occupied need to eat dogs in Ukraine?

BS twitter just jumped the shark with that one

The same Russians who are protesting that the invading Russian forces pull out of Ukraine (let me help you: the civilians)? Those Russians?

Or your best leaders in the Kremlin...THOSE Russians?
