To be elite one has to be a multimillionaire there (at least) with connections. But I suspect he considers himself superior to the French elites.

I shake my head in bewilderment that there can be any sane person* who supports a government that treats their own people like this.

It boggles the mind.

they do accept me as part of society, but if you talk about the French elite that is like asking do you belong in the South African elite?
It comes down to the amount of money you earn, your status at a University or your media personality.

Let it open your eyes. Look at how many here don't care about Ukraine one bit and just support the aggressor.

The world is a bad place. War will happen. The good news is that it looks like US has decided to knock Russia's war capability out for the next 10-20 years. In the meantime they'll rearm Europe and focus on the Pacific.

Nobody is perfect but a Russian Mir with its cesspool of misery and backwardness is worse than any kitsch Hollywood run US world.

The Syrians are fighting for Russia Nico. Will you be calling for their execution if the Ukrainians capture them as POW's like you and the other Putin simps call for the execution of Ukrainian POW's from the UK and USA?

Or will you state they have protection under the Geneva Convention?

Bonn. Former Bundestag President Wolfgang Schäuble (CDU) has spoken out in favor of quickly making Ukraine a candidate for EU membership. However, he criticizes the hesitation of the traffic light government on this issue: "I really don't understand what the position of the federal government is on this issue. Because with the candidate status it is clear that they belong to Europe,” said Schäuble in an interview with the TV station Phoenix.

Schäuble demanded that one should not let up "supporting the Ukraine to the best of one's ability," because it was waging a "heroic fight not only for itself, but for European values." What Russia and what dictatorships perceive as a threat is "when a liberal democracy works successfully in their neighborhood".

That's how he understood former Chancellor Angela Merkel during her conversation in the Berliner Ensemble . And Schäuble agrees: "The threat to dictators is free democracy based on the rule of law, because people would rather live in free democracy based on the rule of law." Schäuble added that it is all the greater our responsibility to value this democracy and to work for it.

There's a big difference between being accepted as part of French society and as French. Do you get invited to eat at their homes or in a group? I bet you don't. When I worked with the French they had a later supper than the normal supper - for the French only. They had their own table for the French only as well.

Despite one of my British colleagues living in France for many years and owning his own home there with kids in French schools, he was never invited to sit at the French table nor to their supper.

Accept it Nico, you will never be French. The French will not allow it.
